Verizon XLTE service now live in 22 new markets [UPDATED] - PhoneDog

Today is Thursday, the day that a lot of folks use to “throwback” to an earlier time and reflect on something old that the had or did. That’s not the case for Verizon, who is instead celebrating Cellular Network Expansion Thursday. Hmm, that doesn’t have quite the same ring as Throwback Thursday, does it. Verizon says that its XLTE network is now live in 22 new markets. Exactly what those markets are hasn’t yet been revealed, but I’ve reached out to Verizon for the list. This expansion brings its total number of XLTE cities above 400, meaning that 4 out of 5 Verizon LTE markets now have XLTE service. Verizon’s XLTE service, which originally launched in May 2014 , uses AWS spectrum to offer expanded bandwidth that’ll lead to faster peak data speeds. In order to access the XLTE service, you’ll need a compatible device, which includes most popular handsets like the Galaxy S 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, HTC One (M8), HTC One (M8) for Windows, LG G3, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. UPDATE: Just as... The list sent to me actually included one duplicate, so I’m waiting to find out which market is number 22. Below you can find the other 21 new XLTE cities. Burlington, Iowa Sterling, Ill. Dodge, Iowa Hilo, Hawaii Pierre, South Dakota Jacksonville, N. C. Joplin, Mo. Lihue, Hawaii Manitowoc, Wisc. Source: www.phonedog.com
