Franklin County wreck kills rider - Benton Evening News
Illinois State Police reports that a collision among two cars and the motorcycle killed William M. Barger, 34, of Christopher. Late Monday night, around 10:30, a Dodge Journey driven by Kristina L. Johnson, 37, of Whittington, was passing a Kia Optima with Irene K. Biggerstaff, 51, of McLeansboro behind the wheel. When Johnson moved into the westbound lane to pass the Kia, Barger’s Harley Davidson motorcycle and Johnson’s Dodge collided, ISP reports. At that point, the Dodge sideswiped the Kia. Illinois 14 was closed for about four hours as the ISP investigated the crash scene. Hayden, 23, also of Whittington, was a passenger in the Dodge and suffered minor injuries.
