Man rides SUV roof on two highways, Burlington Skyway - Toronto Sun

A young Ancaster man “experiencing the effects of alcohol” rode 35 km on the roof of a car as it sped along two major highways in the Hamilton area, OPP say. 403 called police around 6:15 a. m. Sunday after seeing an SUV going westbound with a man lying on its top, holding onto the roof rack. An OPP officer soon stopped the Dodge Journey SUV near the Golf Links Rd. exit. Graham Williamson said the vehicle’s 19-year-old driver and 18-year-old roof rider had come from a house party on Fruitland Rd. in Stoney Creek, travelled west along the QEW, up and over the Burlington Skyway bridge, and onto the westbound lanes... The roof rider was on top of the vehicle for the whole 35-km trip before being stopped, Williamson said, adding alcohol impairment was not an issue for the driver but was for the roof rider. “I believe his inhibitions were somewhat decreased because I don’t think I would’ve done that unless I’d had been into it. ”.
