Meet Your Neighbor: Jessica Inéz Martínez - Las Cruces Sun-News

Jessica Inéz Martínez, 24, attended Mayfield High School and later graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor's degree in political science and Spanish. LULAC is the oldest and largest Latino civil rights organization in the country. She reactivated the Las Cruces LULAC Youth Chapter and once she realized that anyone can make a difference, no matter what age, she never stopped lending a helping hand. Martínez was elected as the LULAC National Youth President at age of 16 and served for three terms, addressing civil rights issues, education and immigration reform. In 2009, she was recognized by My Latino Voice as one of the "Top 25 Latinos Under the 25" ranking number 10. She recently became the New Mexico LULAC state director, making her the youngest state director in all of LULAC's 86 years of history. A red 2006 Dodge Stratus.
