Jim Baier Kind, caring and considerate, Baier ran the Black Bear Inn for 18 years. He was also involved with his hometown’s centennial celebration, has contributed to Butternut and Veterans parks there, and coached Elmwood youth and junior high softball. Active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Baier has been a Knights of Columbus member, has served in the Army and is a past commander of Legion Post 207. He’s in both the UW-River Falls and the NAIA halls of fame. He has delivered mail, shown leatherwork at area fairs, enjoys golfing and “any day that ends in the letter ‘Y. ’”.
