Family, friends seek answers in Chelsey Green's death - The News-Press

The 10th anniversary of her father’s death, and alcohol or drugs may have been factors in 25-year-old Chelsey Green’s death. Green’s family said her white Dodge Stratus with a pink decal on the rear window honoring her father, was found in the Caloosahatchee River with her body inside late Monday afternoon. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office would only say that a white Dodge Stratus, matching Green’s, was pulled from the river Monday. “The remains were turned over to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and proper identification,” said Lt. Jeffery Dektas, a sheriff’s office spokesman. “Oh yeah, it was her,” said her 28-year-old brother, Josh Green, who said he watched video of the Dodge being pulled from the river. Jimbo Green Jr. , died July 26, 2005. Chelsey was 15 and took the death hard, her brother said. “I don’t know if that had an effect,” Josh Green said. A missing persons report on Green filed Friday by her mother listed a previous suicide by drugs attempt and an overdose and said she had been depressed. Josh Green said searchers checked that area among others with no success. Source: www.news-press.com
