Question: My Dodge 2002 2. 7L Intrepid calls for 5W-30 motor oil. Is there an issue if I use 5W-20 in it. The reason I ask is because my other two Dodges both use 5W-20, and it would save me from having the extra jug around. Answer: Any oil ending in “30” is a heavy oil, and many oil pump drive shafts don’t like pumping what can be referred to as “peanut butter oil” unless that is what the car manual recommends.
