The Hannibal Courier-Post reports that 66-year-old Bettye Wilson is charged with delivery of a controlled substance at a correctional facility and distribution of a controlled substance. Wilson was arrested July 19. A probable cause statement says she planned to pass heroin balloons from her mouth to an inmate at the state prison in Bowling Green by kissing him. BRYAN, Ohio — State troopers in northwest Ohio say a 34-year-old woman has died after the motorcycle she was riding on was hit by a deer crossing a highway. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the motorcycle was westbound on U. S. 6 near Bryan when struck by the deer, causing both people aboard to fly off the motorcycle. Troopers say 34-year-old passenger Melody Bridges of Bryan was then struck by a semi-truck shortly after midnight Sunday morning, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say the semi driver didn't see Bridges, who was lying on the roadway injured, before hitting her. The Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Solomon Meade of Bryan was operating a 2001 Harley-Davidson. WAHPETON, N. D. — Authorities in southeastern North Dakota say some residents are being targeted by a jury duty scam.
