According to a federal complaint, Blanco said he would be paid enough money to fund both his daughter’s birthday party and some dental work he needed himself, if he agreed to smuggle the money. The complaint also indicates this is not the first time Blanco has been arrested for smuggling cash. He currently is on probation for a bulk smuggling cash conviction from October 2012. Blanco remains held without bail pending his trial due to his previous conviction, failure to comply with his probation conditions, and his ties to Mexico, court... Customs and Border Protection officers inspected a 1999 Dodge Caravan that Blanco was driving and found 10 bundles of cash totaling $215,800 hidden inside the vehicle. Blanco told federal agents that he was aware some type of contraband had been hidden inside the van and that he thought it was money, the complaint states.
