Vehicle crashes for week of Aug. 13 - Algona Upper Des Moines

– Aaron Michael Louscher, 43, Algona, was cited for unsafe backing and leaving the scene of an accident in a crash near the intersection of Chubb and Sample Streets. According to Officer Ben Gatton of the Algona Police Department, Suzanne Ruth Larsen had parked a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu owned by Allen Phillip Larsen, Algona, thirty feet from the intersection of Sample and Chubb Streets. Louscher then backed his 2015 Ford F25 from his parking space and into Larsen’s vehicle. Damage to the Malibu was estimated at $2,000. Damage to the F25 was estimated at $1,000. No injuries were posted in the accident report. - Duane Dalten Pigman, 18, Britt, Julie Lynn Davis, 40, Eagle Grove, and Alexander Michael Davis, 19, Eagle Grove, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy. The trio were transported from the accident scene to Hancock Memorial Hospital by the West Hancock Ambulance Service. According to Deputy Robert Bankey of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Pigman was eastbound on 220th Street in his 1988 Chevrolet K1500. The road Pigman was traversing is a gravel road. Davis van entered the ditch on the south east corner of the intersection and Pigman spun and came to a rest on the shoulder of the road. Damage to the K1500 was estimated at $2,000 and the vehicle was towed from the accident scene. Damage to the Freestar was estimated at $5,000 and the vehicle was towed from the accident scene.
