BC Day long weekend full of accidents, drunk drivers and speeders - Terrace Standard

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 173 calls for service from July 31st, 8 a. m. till August 4th, 8 a. m. During the same time period, 34 people were lodged in Terrace cells – 22 of these people were lodged for intoxication. Here are some of the calls responded to:. Deceased 56-year-old woman on Sparks St. A black 2013 Ford F150 was pulled over on Hwy 16 for going 152 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. A green 2000 GMC Sierra collided with a grey 2014 GMC Sierra at Desjardins Ave. The driver and passenger of the 2014 GMC suffered minor injuries. The 33-year-old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. A blue Volkswagen Beetle hit the ditch and rolled on Kalum Lake Rd. The 65-year-old driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital via BC Ambulance. A woman suffered minor injuries. Police arrested a 23-year-old woman. A grey 1998 Honda Civic was pulled over for going 115km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone at Hwy 37/Krumm Rd. The Honda was impounded. A Pontiac Sunfire was pulled over on Hwy 16. The 26-year-old driver was prohibited from driving. A black Ford Focus was pulled over for going 107 km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone on Hwy 16 at the Kitsumkalum Reserve.
