Ashley, of 418 Montgomery St. , entered the Hampton Inn at 417 7th North St. around 6:03 p. m. and demanded money from an employee -- claiming he was armed with a handgun, Seeber said. A week earlier and less than half a mile away, Ashley entered the Chase Bank at 324 7th North Street and handed a teller a note stating he had a gun and wanted money , Seeber said. A deputy responding to the robbery observed Ashley's car near the Pilot Truck Stop on 7th North Street, Seeber said. When the deputy tried to pull Ashley over, Ashley sped away. The deputy lost sight of Ashley's vehicle near West Kirkpatrick Street and North Geddes Street after chasing the suspect south on Court Street, Seeber said.
