Family of UMMC security guard killed in hit and run speaks out - WJTV

JACKSON, MS – A UMMC security guard was killed in a recent hit-and-run and almost a week later, police are still looking for the person responsible for hitting her. Fifty-eight-year-old Mattie Amos was killed Friday morning as she was crossing Woodrow Wilson to get to work. Jackson police now know what vehicle they are looking for and they are asking the public to to come forward with useful information. That family tells WJTV they won’t find closure until the person responsible for that accident is held accountable for their actions. The accident happened early last Friday morning on Woodrow Wilson, not far felt the VA hospital. Family members of the victim, Mattie Amos, tell us they never expected anything like this.
