SAN DIEGO - A woman crashed her car into a laundromat in a Clairemont-area shopping center Friday, sending three people to a hospital, authorities said. The 80-year-old driver hit the gas instead of the brake while parking her 2010 Honda Insight and crashed into the business just before 9 a. m. in the 5600 block of Balboa Avenue, according to San Diego police and fire officials. Two people were pinned under the woman's car, but were freed relatively easily and were taken to San Diego-area hospitals with serious injuries, San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesman Lee Swanson said. A 45-year-old woman sustained a fractured spine and a 55-year-old man sustained a fracture in his lower right leg. A 54-year-old woman inside the business was hit with flying glass and was also taken to the hospital for lacerations on both of her legs, officials said. Source: www.10news.com
