KOTA KINABALU: A man who was arrested along Jalan Punang, Kelalan in Lawas for retaining a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck, received seven months jail by a Magistrates Court here yesterday. Magistrate Mohd Faiz Omar imposed the sentence on Loi Kwung Yew, 27, after the latter pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 411 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of five years and a fine upon conviction. Not long after that, the 45-year-old car owner lodged a report stating that his red Toyota Hilux bearing numbers SA 6133 P had gone missing, believed to be stolen. The company, which was represented by its director, pleaded not guilty before judge Indra Hj Ayub for committing the offence under Section 7(1) (a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984, which carries a fine of up to RM25,000 or a...
