The faulty airbag inflator issue that has been a PR disaster for manufacturers around the world has now struck a further 102,000 Nissan vehicles in Australia, ranging from MY 2004 to MY 2007, in addition to the 50,160 Nissans recalled for the... Nissan Australia last instituted a recall campaign for a faulty driver's airbag inflator in November last year for 12,859 Nissan K13 Micras built between September 2010 and October 2011. This followed a recall for the same issue in June 2014,... The Nissan recall notice dated 27 June 2014 was the most specific about the dangers of the fault. It said that "the front passenger air bag inflator contains propellant wafers that are required to properly deploy the air bag. Nissan in its latest expansion of the ongoing global recall campaign for Takata Passenger Air Bag Inflators has included additional MY2004-MY2007 vehicles. Source: www.motoring.com.au

Nissan Navara ST-X Review - CarAdvice

Sometimes, figures speak for themselves and in the case of the Nissan Navara , it’s the second best selling vehicle in the highly-competitive 4×4 Ute segment. Although the Toyota HiLux 4×4 outsold the Navara 4×4 by about 5,000 vehicles last year, the Nissan Navara is still seen by many as one of the best options on the market today. Last year saw Nissan update the Navara range with the introduction of the Series 4. This meant more power, more torque as well as a whole range of new equipment and safety features. There are two powerplants available for those considering a Nissan Navara ST-X Dual Cab. Sure it has more power (198kW compared to 140kW for the diesel) but it has less torque (385Nm at 4000rpm compared to 450Nm at 2000rpm) and uses a truckload more fuel (13. 6L/100km compared to 8. 5L/100km). Despite the obvious advantages in buying a diesel, Nissan also happened to upgrade the diesel engine last year with the introduction of a variable nozzle turbo (VNT) with electric control instead of the original hydraulic system. Thousands of cars in the UK are part of a global recall of 6. 5million vehicles by Toyota and Nissan over a potential airbag fault, it was revealed today. The Japanese motoring giants want to replace potentially faulty airbag inflators made by supplier Takata - but stressed the recall was for “investigative purposes” and that no accidents or injuries had been reported involving their own vehicles. Toyota , the world’s biggest car manufacturer, said it was recalling just under 5million vehicles, including the Corolla, Yaris and other models made between March 2003 and November 2007. Nissan is recalling about 1. 56m vehicles. The company has not yet put a figure on the number of UK cars affected, but it could be as many as 125,000. The European recall covers passenger-side airbags on 995,000 Toyota cars produced between March 2003 and March 2007. The models involved... It also involves driver-side airbags on 271,000 vehicles made between July 2003 and December 2005. The models involved are Rav 4, Yaris and the Hilux pick-up truck. Toyota GB said the UK cars involved would be tested and new airbag inflators fitted if necessary.
