As the popular Nissan Frontier mid-size pickup enters the 2015 model year, it continues to be a leader in the mid-size truck segment – combining premium hardware, extraordinary power and an exceptional level of on- and off-road performance. For 2015, Frontier receives a number of enhancements, including: Moonroof added as standard on Frontier SL Long Wheelbase models. The Frontier exterior styling embodies a number of signature Nissan truck themes – an angled strut grille, large bumpers, short front and rear overhangs and large, stamped-steel geometric fender flares. The 2015 Nissan Frontier is offered in King Cab and Crew Cab body styles, two bed lengths and in RWD and 4WD driveline configurations, along with five trim grades: S (four-cylinder and V6), SV, PRO-4X, Desert Runner and SL (Crew Cab only). Long Bed models are available with Frontier Crew Cab SV and Crew Cab SL. Measuring more than 13 inches longer than the Crew Cab's standard bed, the Long Bed models offer the roomy interior of the Crew Cab plus the extended bed space of the King Cab. Nissan Kills the Xterra After Years of Neglect Lead to Its Demise - Torque News

Back in 2005, the Nissan Xterra made up almost 8 percent of the overall U. S. sales for the company. When the Xterra debuted in 2000, it was a resounding success and fit nicely between the Pathfinder, which had grown larger over the years, and the Frontier pickup truck it was based upon. Nissan has now announced that the 2015 Xterra will cease production soon and will not begin again for the 2016 model year. "The Nissan Xterra has completed its current production cycle. After more than 750,000 Xterras sold since its introduction as a model year 2000 vehicle, the last Xterra will be sold in the fall of 2015. ". The writing was on the wall for the Xterra, though. Even as the Frontier pickup truck enjoyed continued steady sales, the Xterra was dropping. As the last true body-on-frame SUV in Nissan's lineup, though, it's sad to see the Xterra go. One of the most capable people-haulers in their line, the Xterra offered a lot of goodness for the buck. Yet it was often neglected as Nissan focused on volume-selling vehicles such as the Rogue, Murano, Altima, and Maxima. Our well-equipped, Frontier 4X4 SV crew-cab tester has an asking price of $28,981 under the dealer's market-based "True Price" discounting system. Nissan, formerly Datsun, actually pioneered the compact truck segment in the late 1950s, and has had a strong share of the small truck market ever since. The 2015 Frontier crew cab has a tried-and-true exterior design that includes flared wheel-arches, a handsome chrome grille and beefy tires mounted on 16-inch aluminum-alloy split-spoke wheels. No regular-cab version is available, only King Cab and crew cab models.
