Over the past year, Hyundai has continually surprised the auto industry, and more importantly the consumer, by offering game-changing safety technology at a reasonable price. New for 2016, along with the standard rearview camera, the Tucson can be equipped with autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection. \n The sleek 2016 Hyundai Tucson SUV about to go on sale is just the start as the Korean automaker looks to join the SUV boom, Hyundai America President and CEO Dave Zuchowski said last week. In addition to the Tucson, the automaker is looking at new models priced below and above its current lineup. After growing steadily for years, Hyundai’s U. S. sales plateaued recently as American buyers increasingly turned to crossover SUVs. That’s because 80 percent of Hyundai’s lineup is cars, but SUVs and trucks account for 56 percent of U. S. car sales, Zuchowski said. The new Tucson is 3 inches longer than the model it replaces. That gives Hyundai a three-SUV lineup: the Tucson compact, five-seat Santa Fe Sport midsize, and the six- or seven-seat Santa Fe family hauler. The next step will probably see people who currently drive compact cars switch to subcompact SUVs like the Jeep Renegade, Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-3 or the even smaller Buick Encore and Chevrolet Trax, Zuchowski said as he introduced the new 2016... Baylor QB Petty primed for NFL future as draft begins - Waco Tribune-Herald

Petty could be the third quarterback selected in the draft behind Florida State’s Jameis Winston and Oregon’s Marcus Mariota, who some experts predict will be the first two players picked. Petty said he’ll watch the draft from his home in Midlothian. “It’s come to the point now where all the hard work and dedication are coming to fruition,” said Petty on Wednesday night. Petty believes he’s improved his draft stock during the last few months after testing well at the NFL Combine in February followed by an outstanding performance at Baylor’s Pro Day in March. “They were saying earlier that I was going to be a fifth-round draft pick,” Petty said. Though Gruden showed some of Petty’s lowlights like when he tripped yards short on a sure touchdown run against Oklahoma State in 2013, he had a lot of fun doing the show. “It tried to be energetic and charismatic,” Petty said. “It was a lot of fun talking to a guy with a lot of experience in the league and has been a Super Bowl winning coach. Though Winston and Mariota will be picked well ahead of him, Petty believes he’s the best quarterback in the draft. “I think you have to feel that way,” Petty said.
