Father of PGA golfer Ryan Palmer dies in rollover - Amarillo.com

The father of PGA golfer and Amarillo native Ryan Palmer was killed in a rollover accident about 8 p. m. Tuesday on Loop 335 near the State Highway 136 exit, Department of Public Safety troopers said in a news release issued Wednesday morning. A 2005 GMC Yukon driven by Charles Franklin “Butch” Palmer, 71, of Amarillo, was headed north on Loop 335 two miles north of Amarillo. Ryan Palmer is currently ranked 37th in the official world golf rankings and 55th in the FedEx Cup. Ryan Palmer played golf at Amarillo High School and later for the University of North Texas and Texas A&M University. His PGA debut came in 1998 and he turned pro in 2000. Since becoming a successful golfer, Ryan Palmer moved to Colleyville in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex but is actively involved in charity work in Amarillo. He established The Ryan Palmer Foundation fund to help junior golfers by funding their tournament fees and North Texas PGA dues. In 2009, the Palmer Foundation gave $100,000 to the Children’s Hospital at Northwest Texas Healthcare System to build a nine-hole putting green called the Ryan Palmer Foundation Healing Garden. Frankfurt preview: 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe - LeftLane News

Although the C63 looks similar to the run-of-the-mill C-Class Coupe, the two models lines actually don't have much in common. In order to accommodate bigger wheels and tires, the C63's track was widened by 64mm at the front and 66mm at the back. Wider fender flares ensure the C63's beefier tires don't rub on the coupe's body work. The C-Class Coupe's aluminum hood was even lengthened by 60mm for the C63 Coupe. For those wanting even more power, the up-rated C63 S boasts 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque from the same 4. 0L engine. In addition to more power, the C63 S also benefits from an electronic rear differential rather than a mechanical unit, standard dynamic engine mounts and a unique "Race" mode for its AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission. Mercedes says the C63 is capable of accelerating from 0-60 in 3. 9 seconds and hitting an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. The more power S model is good for a 0-60 run in 3. 8 seconds and top end limited to 180mph. The C63 rides on a sport-tuned suspension that uses a four-link setup at the front and multi-link rear axle that was specifically designed for the Coupe. Route 7 in the Terra Alta area, just west of Shop ‘N’ Save. Billy Dean Buckingham-Moats, 20, of Tunnelton, was traveling west on W. Va. Route 7 in a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback when he passed a vehicle traveling in the same direction, according to authorities. A vehicle was coming from the other direction, so Buckingham-Moats had to quickly pull back into his lane after overtaking the vehicle he was passing, according to authorities. Buckingham-Moats, along with two passengers in his vehicle — Vincent Delaney Buckingham-Turner, 23 of Tunnelton and Heather Lee Parker, 21, also from Tunnelton — were injured, according to authorities.
