The recall is within the framework of the ministry’s ongoing coordination and follow-up to ascertain dealers’ commitment to follow up defects and repair them to protect consumers’ rights. The ministry has affirmed that it will coordinate with the company to follow up necessary maintenance and repair processes and communicate with clients to ensure the success of the recall and implementation of procedures to fix defects. Sutherland named finalist for Md. Teacher of the Year - My Eastern Shore

State Superintendent of Schools Lillian M. Lowery announced seven finalists for the 2015-2016 honor on Wednesday, Sept. The other finalists are: Dr. Stephanie Marchbank, English, Allegany County. Stephanie Geddie, kindergarten instructional team leader, Howard County. The finalists were selected by a panel of judges representing principals, teachers, school boards, teacher unions, parents and higher education. Criteria used in the selection included teaching philosophy and results, community involvement, knowledge of general education issues and suggestions for professional and instructional improvement. “Maryland teachers are among the nation’s finest, and the work of these outstanding finalists represents the sparkling creativity and energy found in classrooms through the State,” Lowery said. “Maryland’s teachers offer our students world-class instruction, providing a passport to their future success. Sutherland is a biomedical sciences teacher at Kent Island High School, where she teaches chemistry, biology and career technology. But no matter what she was doing, it always seemed she was teaching, and she decided to go to graduate school and become a teacher. West Virginia State Police troopers could soon be adding a new title under their gun belts: drivers of the best looking cruisers in the country. As of Monday at 6 p. m. , West Virginia led the American Association of State Trooper’s 2015 Best Looking Cruiser Contest by several thousand votes. “I think by far if you look at cruisers throughout the nation, definitely our blue and gold cruiser is No. 1,” said WVSP Sgt. “When people drive by us, they recognize it. ”. "The Mountain State’s blue and gold police cars also have features that promote safety for both troopers and West Virginia residents. The 2013 Ford Taurus model featured in the contest showcases a twin turbo engine, the capability of reaching 160 mph, a red dome light that enhances troopers’ night vision and - Sgt.
