Ford Ranger sales pick up speed - The Malaysian Insider

Ford's versatile pick-up truck Ranger – its best-selling nameplate in Malaysia – continued to enjoy strong demand in July with retail sales hitting 699 units, marking its third consecutive month of sales gain. Year-to-date, the Ranger's sales have risen 22% to 5,520 units, according to Ford Motor Company's Malaysia and Asia Pacific emerging markets managing director David Westerman in a statement today. The US-based car company has increased the Ranger stock for dealerships nationwide to meet with market demands. Ford also announced that its July retail sales have reached 975 units in Malaysia. The sporty Ford Fiesta's sale rose 12% in July over the previous month to 119 units, while 101 units of their SUV, the EcoSport, were sold. Source: www.themalaysianinsider.com

– An 86-year-old Putnam Lake woman died Monday when she was run over by a truck backing up in the Putnam County Savings Bank parking lot, the county sheriff said. Barbara Fetzer died at 10:05 a. m. at the Putnam Hospital Center, about 30 minutes after being hit by a 2008 silver Ford Ranger 4-by-4 pickup driven by Thomas Hunt, 66, of Southeast, Sheriff Donald Smith said. Smith said no charges have been filed as police continue to investigate the death. Fetzer was walking across the parking lot when Hunt backed his truck out of a parking space, knocking her to ground and then running over her, Smith said. The Sheriff's Department accident reconstruction team is investigating Fetzer's death, along with the department's forensic unit, Smith said. Source: www.lohud.com
