ENGLEWOOD — Police are looking for a father-son team in connection with a cache of four stolen vehicles and a snow blower found in an Englewood yard. Englewood police officers Michael Christiansen and John Peterson tracked a LoJack signal to a home on Howland Avenue on July 3. They found a 2010 Yamaha motorcycle that had recently been stolen in Secaucus, Englewood Detective Capt. After obtaining a search warrant, police also found a 2007 Honda motorcycle reported stolen out of Paterson in August 2014, a 2006 Ford F-350 pickup reported stolen out of Linden July 1 and a 2010 Ford 350 van reported stolen out of Elizabeth in... Police also found several tools commonly used to steal vehicles and swap parts, Torell said. Detectives found evidence that two men had left just before police arrived, Torell said. On Friday, Torell said police were looking to arrest Robert "Greg" Callahan, 53, and Gregory "Greg Jr. " Lewis, 31, a father and son from Teaneck and Englewood. They've been charged with five counts of receiving stolen property, two counts of altering and obscuring vehicle identification numbers, possession of burglary and theft tools and maintaining a premises for illegal activity. Christiansen and another officer tracked the signal to the rear yard of a home on Howland Avenue, where Torell said they found the 2010 Yamaha motorcycle that had been emitting the signal. Police also discovered a 2007 Honda motorcycle, a 2006 F-350 Ford pickup truck and a 2010 Ford E350 van – all of which also were determined to have been stolen – and tools that police said were “consistent with the type commonly used to steal... ” After being granted a search warrant, Torell said, police also found a $1,500 snow blower that had been stolen in Clifton during the height of a snowstorm in January. In the course of their investigation, Torell said police received evidence that two men had left the property in a hurry just before officers arrived. It was also determined that some of the vehicle identification numbers had been altered and obscured, and license plates had been switched to avoid detection, Torell said. Police are now searching for two men, Robert “Greg” Callahan, 53, and his son, Gregory “Greg Junior” Lewis, 31. OLD FORGE — Cosmo Salerno’s last memory of Mackenzie Evanusa makes him crack a smile. The owner of Cosmo’s Cheesesteaks in Scranton worked with the 18-year-old Scranton girl Sunday. Several hours after that last shift, early Monday morning, Mr. Salerno learned Ms. Evanusa got into a car wreck Sunday night. Speed may have been a factor in Sunday night’s deadly wreck in Old Forge, but police are also examining whether a mechanical problem contributed, investigators said Monday. “Our investigation continues,” Old Forge police Chief Jason Dubernas said. Evanusa, sitting in the passenger seat, was pinned by the impact and suffered fatal injuries, Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland said. The driver, 21-year-old Corey Uhrin and a 16-year-old boy in the back seat were also injured, Chief Dubernas said. The 16-year-old, who the chief declined to identify, underwent surgery Monday morning and was in stable condition at Geisinger Community Medical Center by Monday afternoon, Chief Dubernas said. While police worked to process the fatal wreck, those who knew Ms. Evanusa kept her in their thoughts.
