NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The new all-aluminum Ford F-150 crew cab pickup did well in a tough new crash test but the slightly smaller SuperCab version of the truck earned poor marks. Both versions were subjected to the new small overlap front crash test. In that test, a vehicle hits a barrier at 40 miles per hour with just one-quarter of its front bumper. The larger Ford F-150 SuperCrew version of the truck has added structures that helped protect the passenger compartment during the small overlap test. The Insurance Institute was originally going to test only the larger SuperCrew truck because that's the most popular version of the truck. After learning of the structural differences from other versions of the truck, though, the Institute decided to test the smaller version as well. In the future, the Institute will test more than one version of large pickups like the F-150, the Institute said. When this crash test was introduced in 2012, the new F-150 was already far into development, Ford spokesman Mike Levine said. Source: www.nbc-2.com

So far, I haven’t found the perfect vehicle but here are some features that I would include if I could. Honda’s Lane-watch Blind Spot Display is an enhancement of the passenger side outside mirror. When you signal for a right turn, a camera in the outside mirror housing displays a picture in the centre-dash display that shows an up to 80-degree view of the lanes to the right of the vehicle. Guidelines in the display show the position of other vehicles in relation to yours, so you know when it is safe to change lanes. This may seem like an unnecessary feature, but once you use it, you want it in any vehicle you drive — it is so much better than the outside mirror. Ford’s Active Park Assist is offered on several Ford and Lincoln models, including the new 2015 F150 pickup. The advancements of the Ford system are simply incredible. Trying to parallel park a big vehicle like the F150 or squeeze a Ford Focus into a tight parking spot are equally simple. The system lets you know when a parking space is big enough and then you simply follow the directions on the display screen.
