The hazards: driver visibility can be significantly reduced in the event of losing low-beam headlights, increasing risk of an accident especially during times of low visibility such as night-time, rain, or fog. 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer 2006-2007 GMC Envoy 2006-2007 Buick Rainier 2006 Trailblazer EXT 2006 GMC Envoy XL 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender The expanded recall includes:. 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix 2005 Buick LaCrosse (at the time of this model the LaCrosse was called Buick Allure in Canada) Number of vehicles affected: 180,504 units, of which:. 159,584 were sold in the United States 21,000 were sold in Canada (including Buick Allure) The fix: GM has yet to announce a permanent repair. Gipson was reportedly restrained at the time of the crash, but still sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish coroner. Troopers want to take this time to remind motorists that fatigued drivers and drivers experiencing unexpected medical problems are three times more likely to be involved in a crash. Taking preventative measures such as stopping for rest or seeking medical attention for an unexpected illness can drastically decrease your chances of being involved in a crash. According to investigators, Matthew Allen English, 31, was driving southeast on N. C. Highway 211 when he hit a 2005 Buick Lacrosse driven by James Douglas Wellington in a northbound lane. Wellington, 55, was transported to Moore Regional Hospital, where he later died. Wellington’s father, John Wellington, 84, died after being taken to Caper Fear Valley Hospital while his wife, Joyce Wellington, 69, died at the scene of the accident. John Wellington served as a Robeson County Commissioner from 2005 to 2010, and also served as a board member at a local community college. Joyce Wellington's sister, Gail Prescott, 55, survived the crash and was taken to Moore Regional Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. Members of the Wellington family told WRAL News that James Wellington was driving his father and the others to a doctors appointment. He is currently charged with driving while impaired, careless and reckless driving and driving left of center. Source: www.wral.com
