I can only think of a couple of contaminants. This would cause a module fail. The second is a manufacturing defect where 'contamination' is part of the module that hasn't been cleaned correctly allowing for a short. The module could also be placed in an area that is susceptible to large quantities of water, increasing the risk of ingestion. Combine that with salts off or the road, you have a potential problem is the module isn't sealed correctly. I do think the word contamination is used to describe the introduction of a foreign component. I do think the trailer braking isn't directly operated from this module, but via the engine. The average GM product is way lacking behind in engineering. Same old stuff from 5 to 10 years behind. So why does the average guy still spend his hard earned$$ on govt.
