The TV Column Dead spinoff, Sherlock hound hunt on tap tonight - Arkansas Online

The highly anticipated Fear the Walking Dead premieres at 8 p. m. today on AMC. Also, Talking Dead Season 6 Preview Special airs at 7 p. m. today on AMC to chat up the Oct. airs at 8 p. m. today with Sherlock: The Hounds of Baskerville , starring Benedict Cumberbatch. The 90-minute episode is rated TV-14. I still remember the chills I got when I read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original when I was 12 or 13. Doyle wrote, "Never in the delirious dream of a disordered brain could anything more savage, more appalling,... Cumberbatch is my favorite Sherlock of the more than 70 actors (according to Guinness World Records ) who have portrayed the detective. And that includes Basil Rathbone's iconic portrayal in 14 films, and post- Ironman Robert Downey Jr. 's interpretation of director Guy Ritchie's Sherlock as some sort of Victorian James Bond. One of the reasons Cumberbatch is my favorite is the perfect chemistry his portrayal has with his faithful and long-suffering sidekick, Dr. John Watson, played to perfection by Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit films). In The Hounds of Baskerville, Holmes and Watson are on a cold case, investigating a murder that took place two decades earlier. Source: www.arkansasonline.com

Richard Lee Weter, 74, of Evansville, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Monroe Manor, Monroe, WI, with his wife, Emma, at his side. 11, 1940, in Harvard, IL, to Gordon B. and Birdena L. (Welbon) Weter and spending much of his childhood on a farm in Hebron, IL. belonging to his grandfather and grandmother Weter. He was a graduate of the new Walworth High School in 1959, as the first graduating class. He married his sweetheart, Emma J. (Susong) Weter, on Sept. 8, 1966, in Hebron, IL, which was attended by his lifelong friend, Joseph Susong and sister-in-law, Janey (Susong) Valentine. , with a specialty as a vehicle mechanic and was an expert rifleman stationed in San Antonio, TX. Richard returned to Elkorn, WI, with his bride, Emma, where he worked as a mechanic for the Clifford Ford dealership of Janesville. They remained there for 27 years until they both retired in 2004, to their farm in Footville, WI. in which they enjoyed many years of hobby farming. He was a member of the New Horizon United Methodist Church of Orfordville, WI. He belonged to the VFW, American Legion, and Moose Club. a brother, David F. Weter of Richardson, TX. two brothers-in-law, Joseph (Sue Watson) Susong of Footville, WI, and Ridley Nick (Lori Clark) Susong of Sharon, WI. three sisters-in-law: Janey Susong (Dale) Valentine of Hebron, IL, Willie Susong... She made television appearances with such stars as Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby, John Wayne and Tom Jones and she performed for presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan. She was also in episodes of the TV show "Starsky and Hutch" and in the 1982 TV movie "Country Gold. Anderson's other hits included, "Rocky Top," "You're My Man," "How Can I Unlove You," "What a Man, My Man Is" and "Top of the World" (also recorded by the Carpenters). She returned briefly to the country Top 10 with a Gary Morris duet in 1983, "You're Welcome to Tonight. Country star Reba McEntire lauded her accomplishments Thursday. "She did so much for the females in country music," McEntire said in a statement. Dolly Parton also said she'd be missed. We will miss her and remember her fondly," Parton said in a statement. The daughter of country songwriters Casey and Liz Anderson, she started performing at the age of 6. Anderson was an award-winning equestrian as a teenager, voted California Horse Show Queen in 1966.
