The 2015 Ford F-150 is the first all-aluminum body truck in the world, and Quad City Ford dealerships say there’s a long list of benefits to the new truck. Ford officials replaced the truck’s steel frame with aluminum, which is produced by Alcoa, one of the Quad Cities’ largest employers. Ford announced that their trucks would be 97 percent aluminum back in January, 2014. The announcement brought “job security,” according to Brad Greve, the vice president of the United Steelworkers Local 150 in Bettendorf. “The lighter body is going to get you better gas mileage,” said Javier Calleja, a sales consultant at Dahl Ford in Davenport. Ford offers four different engines: The 2. 7-liter EcoBoost, 3. 5-liter EcoBoost, 3. 5-liter Ti-VCT V6 and the 5. 0 Ti-VCT V8. Drivers with the 2. 7-liter EcoBoost engine could get up to 19 miles per gallon in city, and 26 highway. Although the 2. 7-liter EcoBoost engine is a smaller engine, Calleja said it can still tow up to 8,500 pounds if properly equipped. Source: wqad.com

De acuerdo a la Procuraduría General de Justicia de Guanajuato (PGJG), el operativo comenzó la tarde del lunes y finalizó en las primeras horas de ayer, por parte de la Unidad Especializada en investigación de robo de vehículos. El operativo se realizó derivado de labores de inteligencia, en donde se informó que en un predio ubicado en la comunidad de La Luz de los Ángeles, se almacenaban objetos de procedencia licita. Por ese motivo, el agente del Ministerio Público especializado adscrito a la Subprocuraduría de Investigación Especializada (SIE), solicitó a un juez de control y garantías de Cortazar, una orden de cateo para registrar el inmueble. Al hacer la revisión, se estableció que en el lugar se encontraban cerca de seis mil litros de hidrocarburo que estaban almacenados en contenedores de plástico con capacidad para mil litros y en otros de diversos tamaños. También se localizó una camioneta marca Ford, tipo plataforma, blanca, con placas de Querétaro, la cual cuenta con reporte de robo vigente con violencia en aquella entidad, el 3 de junio de este año. Ford F-150 Pickup Trucks Go All Out for Natural Gas, Propane - Natural Gas Intelligence

Already a leading provider or natural gas-powered light-duty pickup trucks, Ford Motor Co. said Monday its 2016 F-150 pickup models will have a 5. 0-liter V8 engine offering natural gas and propane as fuel options. Ford said the popular pickups will have the option of a "gaseous-fuel prep," making them capable of running on compressed natural gas (CNG) or propane. Ford has sold more than 57,000 vehicles prepped to operate on CNG and propane since 2009, said the spokesperson, claiming that sales total is "seven times more than all other major U. S. automakers combined. "We expect the gaseous-fuel prep package will be even more popular than it was on the 2014 F-150 with the 3. 7-liter V6 engine," said Jon Coleman, Ford's fleet sustainability/technology manager. Ford said it sold more than 2,000 of the 2014 F-150 prep packages in less than a year, and it expects to exceed that with the 2016 package. Chicago-based ampCNG noted its own CNG fleet of Class 8 trucks has surpassed the 30 million mile mark in natural gas-fueled transportation, noting that its milestone helps to demonstrate the commercial and operational viability of CNG in heavy...
